I am taking a siesta from blogging. While some days I post lots of stuff others I can’t get around to posting any, I have realized that my heart is not into keeping the blog up to date like it needs to be to be successful. There are women out there that spend their whole day taking care of a savings blog and bringing the best deals to their readers. I have found I just can’t do that and still run A Crystal Garden successfully and this is the slow season for my business. I am not going to close it down just yet but while I am on siesta, I wanted to share my favorite sites to visit each day.

There are hundreds more out there but I have found by visiting just the ones above you will find most of the good deals available. I visit most of them everyday to sign up for freebies or see what other scenarios people have come up with for sales for the week. Even though I will be taking a blogging siesta you will still see me saving big bucks out there in the stores! Good Luck!

Freezing Blueberries

With blueberries at only .99 at Safeway this week, I decided it would be a great week to stock up and freeze my stash for the winter. I purchased 5 pints to freeze today and will go get more on Sunday. My Dad was the blueberry freezer person in our family and froze them using the good old cookie sheet method. I just happened to come across this article on how to freeze blueberries - what great timing!

I plan to use wax paper instead of paper towels but I think it will work well. Through the fall and winter I just take a few out of the freezer and dump them in my cereal bowl. Nuke (microwave) them for a few seconds and they are as good a fresh!

Super big week for coupons in the newspaper! There will be 5 coupon inserts this week and according to MNTK it is a great week to stock up and buy 8-10 papers. I will probably get 6 just because I am on the conservative side on newspaper buying but I have to admit there are times I wish I had more of certain coupons.
